Rashmi College of Physiotherapy (RCP) is a health-science college on Sandur Road, Kudligi, in the Vijayanagara district of Karnataka. We offer the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, with an annual intake of 40 students.
Who we are
Physiotherapy is an autonomous, first-contact, science-based healthcare profession. Physiotherapists assess, diagnose and treat problems of movement and function caused by injury, disease, ageing or disability, and they promote health and fitness across the lifespan, from newborns to older adults.
RCP was set up to bring quality physiotherapy education to North Karnataka. India is seeing more chronic disease, an ageing population and more lifestyle-related illness, and the national curriculum notes that demand for rehabilitation is growing in rural and urban areas alike. Our graduates are trained to meet that need in hospitals and clinics, and also in primary health centres, schools, workplaces and homes.
The college is run by Sri Siddalingeshwara Education Trust, the same management as our sister institution, the Rashmi Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences & Research Center (RIA), Kudligi. Two health-science institutions under one management give our students a wider academic community and a shared commitment to the health of the region.

What we teach, and how
Our BPT programme follows the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) Competency-Based Curriculum for Physiotherapy (2025), issued under the NCAHP Act, 2021 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, within the regulations of RGUHS. The curriculum moves beyond what a student knows to what a graduate can do.
Integrated learning
Basic sciences are linked to clinical practice from the first year, and subjects are taught around shared, clinically relevant themes.
Early clinical exposure
Clinic orientation in Year 1, then clinical observation, clinical education and clinical rotation, before a 12-month internship.
Skills labs & simulation
Students practise on peers, mannequins and simulators before they treat patients, under the Demonstrate–Observe–Assist–Perform model.
Competency-based assessment
OSCE, OSPE, DOPS, case presentations and continuous internal assessment measure real clinical ability.
Our approach
- Patient first. Respect for each patient's autonomy, privacy and dignity, and fair access to care for all.
- Evidence-based. Research methodology, biostatistics and evidence-based practice are part of the core course, with a supervised project during internship.
- Community-minded. Field visits to rural and urban PHCs, health camps, disability screening and a two-month rural posting during internship.
- Team players. Students learn to work with doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists and other allied health professionals.
- Lifelong learners. Self-directed learning and reflective practice prepare graduates for further study (MPT, PhD) and continuing education.
