The BPT follows an annual pattern: four academic years, each ending in a University examination (BPT I to BPT IV), followed by a one-year rotatory internship. The tables below reproduce the scheme of study in the NCAHP Curriculum Handbook of Physiotherapy (2025). Question papers are set subject-wise. Where RGUHS regulations differ, the University's scheme prevails.

Clinical rotation areas in the fourth year
In Clinical Rotation (BPT-409, 390 hours), students rotate through the areas below and learn, under supervision, bedside approach, patient assessment, special tests, identifying indications, ruling out contraindications, deciding treatment parameters and dosage, and using relevant outcome measures. Evidence-based practice is part of the training.
Community Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation (BPT-407) practicals add field visits to urban and rural PHCs and regional rehabilitation training centres, regular mobile camps, disability surveys and screening in villages, prescription of ambulatory and assistive devices, making low-cost assistive devices from locally available materials, and community education programmes on health and disability.
Internship rotation (fifth year)
After passing all subjects of all four years, students complete a 12-month rotatory clinical internship of at least 2016 hours (Table 4.13).
